This is so well put! I've been thinking a lot about this and my feeling towards Marley K's article (and similar statements) have been the same… I don't feel offended or a need to push back. I feel grateful for the chance to learn and move forward.

We need to welcome this as an opportunity to look deeper at ourselves and as an invitation to do better—we all can and must. I keep coming back to your statement, "defensiveness is privilege in action" and this keeps ringing true.

It's time to lower those defenses, let it all wash in over us, see it for what it is, and first then can we start getting to work!
