I absolutely agree with this, and if a random person called me (or 'it') a cunt without my consent I'd also be put off, so it's certainly context based for me too, and a matter of personal preference.

What I do wish we'd move away from, in general, is the use of words that are historically or otherwise used to describe our intimate body parts as insults. That also goes for 'dick', 'twat', or 'pussy' as someone weak, or cowardly… Even 'asshole'. Why should association with these parts of pleasure and beauty be used to degrade someone? Doesn't this reflect how we view sex and our bodies?

In the end, yes, it's about respect, consent and empowerment.
